What’s New in the Neighborhood: July

byrd
Auburn Ave – A new boutique just opened on Auburn Avenue called The Byrd’s Box. This cute shop focuses on local and handmade goods (think Etsy in the physical form), modern and moderately priced clothing and Atlanta-centric wares housed in exposed brick, urban loft space. They host Brunch and Shop events every Sunday from 2 p.m. to 4 p.m. Take advantage of the gratis food and parking and check out the carefully curated items The Bryd’s Box has to offer!

Avondale Estates – Last week Wild Heaven Craft Beers opened an 8,500 square foot brewery in Avondale Estates, just one mile north of Decatur Square. Open Friday evenings and Saturday afternoon for over 21 tastings and Sunday afternoon all ages, a $12 souvenir cup gets you complimentary tastings of six brews on tap.

Midtown – Sometimes you want a great glass of wine without the upscale atmosphere. For those occasions there’s MAX’s Wine Dive. This comfort food meets exotic wine mashup opened its doors on 12th street with the mantra, “Fried chicken and champagne…why the hell not?!” They claim, “Chicks dig purple teeth,” so let your purple teeth shine in Midtown.

West Midtown – Bartaco’s mostly gluten free menu will make even the most modest taco lover’s mouth water. Exotic taco combinations, authentic side dishes and delicious drinks makes this the next likely go-to spot in West Midtown. Offering a beachy vibe and seemingly bottomless tequila makes Atlanta feel like a coastal town.
