Mixed Use Developments Give In-Town Atlanta Real Estate A Small Town Atmosphere

Most of the new developments in Atlanta are mixed use developments, and in-town Atlanta real estate has seen this trend over the last few decades.   These are sites that include office spaces, retail stores and restaurants, along with hotels and residences and are often referred to as ‘Live, Work, Play’ commuities.   With more than $6 billion worth of new developments in the pipeline, real estate in Atlanta is growing every day.

Mixed-use developments have become very popular because of the facilities that they offer.   It also ensures in-town Atlanta real estate keeps growing and there is always progress.   Most buyers prefer to enter into the housing market in mixed-use developments because of the safety and the facilities that are offered.   Moreover, within the development, people become a community, giving it a small town atmosphere.   The developments are self-sufficient and ultimately become mini-towns.   Since mixed-use developments reflect the needs of the community, they normally look at creating jobs for the unemployed.   These developments also have lots of open space and entertainment facilities, like movie theaters and gymnasiums.

There are many new mixed-use developments either in the planning stage or now under construction.  Some of those include Buckhead Atlanta, Piedmont Park, Town Brookhaven and Parkway South.   These urban villages offer all the facilities of a modern town on a smaller scale.   They have residential homes that consist of lofts, single or 2-bedroom apartments, and townhouses.

Parkway South is a true mixed-use community and includes educational, cultural and governmental institutions.   The infrastructure has been enhanced to include pedestrian walks and better traffic management.   Transport connections ensure that it is well connected locally, nationally and internationally.

Town Brookhaven consists of 600,000 square feet of retail outlets, restaurants and boutiques.   It also houses 1500 residential units.   Situated close to the famous Lenox Square Mall and Oglethorpe University, this development is accessible and convenient.

Buckhead Atlanta incorporates the vision of having an urban village with apartments, retail stores and local cafes together, with excellent pedestrian access.

With the development of these housing projects, Atlanta is seeing small housing townships explode, giving people with a great choice while choosing a home.
