Fall Festivals Near the In-Town Atlanta Area

JapanFest Atlanta Arts Festival:  On Sept. 15 and 16, Piedmont Park is filled with more than 200 of the nation’s top artists. A can’t-miss for collectors and enthusiasts alike, the 5th Annual Atlanta Arts Festival features original paintings, photographs and sculptures, as well as hand-crafted works of leather, metal and blown glass blowers. Visitors can also enjoy artist demonstrations, hands-on activities and festival foods.

  Fall Festival on Ponce:  This takes place on Saturday and Sunday, September 15th & 16th, in the historic parks along Ponce de Leon Avenue.   It features about 175 local artists and craftsmen. Visitors can enjoy the fine arts, folk art and crafts from local artists, and there is also a children’s area, and local food and beverages to enjoy.

Music Midtown Music Midtown:  Finally, Atlanta’s favorite music festival returns! On September 21 and 22, Music Midtown is back and better than ever with two stages. This year’s lineup includes Pearl Jam, Foo Fighters, T.I., Florence + the Machine, and more! Come enjoy these artists as they amp up Piedmont Park for a full day of sun and sound.

Pumpkin Festival at Stone Mountain Pumpkin Festival at Stone Mountain Park:  (every weekend in October)  Don your costumes and fall into the Autumn spirit! One of Atlanta’s favorite fall festivals, this event is fun for the entire family. Costume contests, Puppet Parades and a Trick or Treat Scavenger Hunt are just a few highlights. Enjoy story-telling, pie-eating contests and more in one of the city’s most beautiful parks.

Sandy Springs Festival:  What began as a picnic has now turned into a festival with over 20,000 people attending each year.   It is a fundraiser for the non-profit organization Heritage Sandy Springs, which is dedicated to preserving the cultural and historic identity of Sandy Springs.   Events include the Doug Kessler 5k/10k race, an artist’s market, a children’s park and Teen Territory, Kiwanis Pet Parade, live entertainment and a food court. The 2012 Festival will be Saturday and Sunday, September 22nd & 23rd at the Greek Orthodox Cathedral, 2500 Clairmont Rd NE.

Atlanta Greek Festival  Atlanta Greek Festival:  Just for the day, be miles away! Experience the rich 2000-year old culture and history of Greece at the Atlanta Greek Festival. Enjoy authentic dishes and music performances, history chats, traditional dances and more.   Happening Thursday through Sunday, October 4th – 7th.

Taste of Atlanta Taste of Atlanta:  For all food lovers, this festival is a three-day extravaganza held Friday through Sunday, October 5-7 in Technology Square, celebrating tastes from more than 80 of Atlanta’s favorite restaurants.   You can sample innovative dishes and cocktails, sip wines and sample local beers.   There are also live demos from celebrity chefs, cooking lessons and a farmer’s market.

 Riverview Landing Fall Fest:  This annual festival in Riverview Landing is a family event.  There are local food trucks selling local produce, a barbeque cook-off, a petting zoo, a corn maze, kayak and fishing demonstrations, hay rides and music provided by local Atlanta bands.
