Downtown Decatur Hosts the Annual Decatur Beer Festival
Each fall, beer enthusiasts and fellow connoisseurs seeking an enjoyable day filled with beer tasting gather on the square in downtown Decatur. The Decatur Beer Festival begins at noon and runs until 5 in the evening. This year the festival will be held on October 15th with tickets going on sale the month prior.
Many festival goers meet beforehand to savor a meal at one of the many restaurants in Decatur and then it’s off to the festival. Festival goers are encouraged to sample the many different types of beers showcased by local and international beer artisans. Over 100 types of beer are present, sure to please anyone’s palate.
Thanks to the many restaurants in Decatur and area distributors, the festival is a hit every year. Between beer sampling and ambling around, festival goers enjoy live music on the Community Bandstand. Food is never hard to find due to the many venders that set up shop. Local restaurants in Decatur provide the food to go along with the rest of the festival experience.
Admission to the Decatur Beer Festival is $35 per person. Eager festival attendees are encouraged to keep in mind that there is a limit of 4000 tickets sold for each festival and participants must be 21 years of age or older to attend. Tickets are only available for purchase online and no children or pets are permitted at the festival. Each attendee will receive a commemorative tasting glass upon entrance.
Twain’s Billiard and Tap and the Brick Store Pub are a few of the pubs and restaurants in Decatur sponsoring the festival this year. A map of the festival, directions to the square and a list of restaurants in Decatur are easily accessible to all.
