19 Nov Brookhaven – Something for Everyone
Brookhaven is a beautiful area of Atlanta with winding streets, public parks and picturesque landscapes. In July 2012, Brookhaven became a city after a two-year wait. It was originally built to be a country-club type area, and it is the largest city in DeKalb County with about 50,000 residents.
In this modern city, there is mushrooming growth of mixed-use developments, which clearly affects various factors for in-town Atlanta real estate. Historic Brookhaven has older architectural styles of the pre-war period, while Brookhaven Village is made up of the mixed-use developments consisting of Village Place and Village Place Park. In Brookhaven, there is something for everyone whether they are old or young.
Brookhaven has seen a rise in the number of restaurants located there in recent years. Eateries such as the Brookhaven Bistro, Terra Terroir, and the Hudson Grille are quite famous. Village Place Brookhaven is a place of fine dining restaurants like Valenza, Haven and Verde Taqueria, which are always busy. Just on the outskirts of Brookhaven you can find a number of ethnic restaurants to suit your fancy, including Vietnamese, Chinese, Mexican and more.
Brookhaven is an area where the residents enjoy a higher than average income than residents inside the city proper, and the people there also tend to be more educated. Oglethorpe University and Georgia State University’s MBA program are the two universities that contribute to a large part of the development of this community. Montgomery Elementary School is also located here in Brookhaven.
Parks like Brookhaven Park, Blackburn Park, Ashford Park and Briarwood Park are recreational areas, which serve the community with tennis courts, trails, playgrounds and picnic areas.
MARTA connects Brookhaven to the city of Atlanta, with the station located in the center of the town. The town also has good connections to the Interstate 85.
